Lightyear Frontier Companion Unofficial fan app
My girlfriend and I have played many farming games like Stardew Valley and Farm Together. But when we started playing Lightyear Frontier, we got hooked immediately. There is just something special about farming with a giant space mech!
The idea
While we were playing, we noticed it was sometimes hard to find information. The community wiki is unfortunately mostly incomplete, details—like crafting recipes, mech upgrades, and item locations—are missing or hard to find.
One day, my girlfriend said: "It would be cool if there was an app which has all information about the game". I immediately thought that it shouldn't be this hard to do this, right? Gather data, build interface to display it, some testing and headaches (and coffee) and it should be complete.
What will the app do?
The goal is to have all the game information in your pocket. It works offline, so you don't need to leave the game to check a website.
Here is what we are building:
- Item guide: A list of every item with its description and how to get it.
- Recipe calculator: You pick an item you want to build, and the app tells you exactly how many raw materials you need to collect.
- Mech planner: A simple way to see all mech upgrades and chips.
- Resource map: A map showing where to find specific plants and ores.
- Progress tracker: Keep track of your delivery milestones.
Respecting the game creators
I want to be very clear: Frame Break made an amazing game. This app is just a fan project to help the community.
- Credit: All the art, icons, and names belong to Frame Break. We will make sure they get full credit in the app.
- No Spoilers: We will not include "secret" or unreleased items that are hidden in the game files. We want players to enjoy the story naturally.
- Free to Use: This is a hobby project. I am building it because I love the game. It will be free to download.
Current status
Right now, the app is a "work in progress." Only my girlfriend and I are using it to test it while we play. I have reached out to the developers at Frame Break to let them know about the project and make sure they are okay with it.
I will post updates here with screenshots and news about when you can try it yourself.
