Milestone Reached: Frontier Companion Release Candidate is LIVE! 🚀

The wait is finally over! After countless cups of coffee, late-night coding sessions, we are beyond excited to announce that the Release Candidate (v0.11.17) of Frontier Companion is now available for download.

We’ve been using the app ourselves after release of Automation Update in Lightyear Frontier, and it has been a total game-changer. Now, it's time to share it with all of you.

What’s in this version?

Since our last update, we’ve polished the interface and integrated all the data from the recent game patches. Here is what you can use right now:

  • Item encyclopedia - view details and crafting of all items
  • Farming details - details about plants, soil types and other green things
  • Item basket - add items you want to craft and see total raw resource cost
  • Energy balance calculator - add constructs you have in your base and see how much generators do you need
  • Fuel reference - fuel types and refill bars amount
  • Storage capacities - water tanks, storage chests and large item storage reference
  • Base upgrades - unlock requirements, costs and profits
  • Constructs - unlock requirements, crafting
  • Ranch (critters info) - each hatchable critter stats (and cute screenshot 😄)
  • Merchant bundles - see what you can buy from merchant and when
  • World map - map with ore nodes, wild plant locations, critters spawn and more
  • Map regions and unlockables - shows ores and plants which can be unlocked in each region
  • Delivery milestones - delivery cannon requirements for milestones and deliveries tracking
  • Mech chips and body parts - planning mech loadout, mech chips and body parts reference

It may seem like its a lot of functionality, but please do mind that it is still work in progress which means more things will be added, polished (or sometimes changed)

Above also means some things are missing or are plain not correct (overlooked or missed even - we are still only humans), but there are special buttons in settings screen: one for bugs, one for requests - clicking any will redirect you to page hosted by us, where you can enter relevant info and post it directly to this project repository issues so we can track them and resolve ASAP.

You can also open issues in release repository.

App has complete english localization, more languages are in progress.

As promised in Phase 1, we are keeping things open and accessible. You can grab the Android APK directly from the links at the end of this article.

Note for Android users: Since this is an external APK, you may need to "Allow installation from unknown sources" in your phone settings to install it. Don't worry - the app is fully offline and requires zero invasive permissions!

We use split packages to reduce file size - find matching by typing your phone model into google + arm architecture to find out which file you need.

We also have PWA versions!
Check it out on Github pages and our blog here

What’s Next?

Now that the app is in your hands, we need your feedback!

  • Found a bug? Let us know via the form in the app.
  • Missing a recipe? We’re still manually double-checking a few end-game milestones.
  • Proper Play Store release: for an app to appear on Store page, it needs to undergo testing phase (at least 2 weeks) and other formal requirements. Earliest date of public release is end of April 2026/beginning of May 2026.
  • iOS Version? We will be watching the download numbers closely! If the community interest is high, we’ll be moving toward the Apple App Store release.

We hope this tool makes your journey through the stars just a little bit smoother.

See you on the Frontier!
